Roşia Montană Gold Corporation (RMGC) is a company established in 1997, in Alba County, whose shareholders are the mining state company Minvest Deva - with 19.31%, Gabriel Resources – with 80.46% and other minority shareholders – with 0.23%. RMGC is due to develop the most modern mine in Romania, in Roşia Montană, bringing major benefits to the Romanian economy. As a model mine, Roşia Montană Project will set up a new standard for responsible gold mining, both at the level of the European Union and worldwide.

Gabriel Resources is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (GBU symbol). Over 80% of the shares are currently owned by US investors, including Newmont Mining, the world’s second largest gold producer, with 15%, Electrum Strategic Holdings LLC with 18% and Paulson & CO with 18%.

Up to date, Gabriel Resources has invested more than 400 million USD in Romania through Roşia Montană Gold Corporation, and plans to further allocate more than 2.5 billion dollars for the development of the Roşia Montană mining project

Jonathan Henry
President and Chief Executive Officer, Gabriel Resources

Jonathan Henry is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Gabriel Resources.
Mr. Henry is the former Chief Executive Officer of Avocet Mining, a gold mining company with assets in West Africa and South East Asia. Mr. Henry served as the CEO of Avocet from 2006 until May 31, 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Henry served as Avocet's Finance Director from 2002 until becoming the CEO in 2006.

Dragoş Tănase
General Manager Roşia Montană Gold Corporation

Dragos Tanase joined Roşia Montană Gold Corporation in February 2008, coming from the largest cable communications operator in Romania, UPC. Within UPC, Dragoş coordinated the merger of two large cable operators, UPC and Astral Telecom, which combined employed a workforce of 3,600 people and held the position of Chief Financial Officer for 7 years. Previously, Dragoş Tănase – an expert in financial management – worked in financial and business consultancy, first at the Ministry of Finance and then with Arthur Andersen, providing consultancy for Romania’s major industrial sectors. He accepted the challenge of managing Roşia Montană Gold Corporation after a personal one-year assessment of the mining industry potential as well as the project context.

Dragoş Tănase strongly believes that mining has a strong future in Romania and that the Roşia Montană Project can be the flagship to re-launch an entire industry, on modern principles.

Senior Vice-President Governmental Affairs and Community Relations

Nicolae Suciu, Senior Vice-President Governmental Affairs and Community Relations

Nicolae Suciu began working for RMGC in 2006, initially as a Legal Manager, then as a Legal Director, and subsequently as a Legal Vice-President. In June 2009, Nicu became Senior Vice-President in charge of coordinating the Legal and Community Relations Departments, as well as the team managing the dialogue with the governmental institutions responsible for assessing the mining project. Thus, Nicu plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of the Company’s strategy in legal, governmental affairs and community relations matters. Nicolae Suciu is an attorney, specialising in legal and administrative sciences and psychology. He also has a Master’s Degree in Communication and Human Resources Management from the National School of Political and Administration Studies of Bucuarest. Nicu is married and has two children.

Andreea Năstase, Vice-President Communication

Andreea joined RMGC in June 2008 to develop and coordinate the Company’s internal and external communication strategy, and transform RMGC into a communicative company, opened for dialogue with all relevant stakeholders. Andreea has 15 years of experience in marketing, communication and lobbing, and her professional achievements include the creation and consolidation of UPC Romania’s reputation, from the third position of the cable communication market to market leadership. Before being Communication Director of UPC Romania, Andreea was Public Affairs Manager Coca Cola Romania, where she was responsible for ensuring the right legal framework, in compliance with the European and international legislation. Andreea Nastase started her career in 1996, at the first lobby company in Romania, Central Europe Consulting Government Relations. Andreea has graduated from the Trade-Marketing Faculty of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, specialising in political marketing. She is a member of the International Public Relations Association and of the Romanian Association of Public Relations Professionals. She considers herself to be an active and efficient person, who strongly believes in the power of dialogue and rational rather than emotional arguments.

Environment

Horea Avram, Vice-President Environment

Horea Avram has been Vice-President of Environment at RMGC since January 2007, and was previously Environmental Monitoring Officer (2003-2006) and then Environment Director (2006-2007) of the Company. His main responsibilities include coordinating the project permitting process in terms of environmental protection and drafting the Company’s environmental strategy and policy. Between 1996 and 2003, Horea occupied various positions in the governmental sector, being responsible for environmental matters, in particular as a Chief Commissioner of the National Environment Guard, Deva Commissariat. Horea Avram is an environmental engineer, a graduate of the Technical University of Petrosani, and also holds a post-graduate diploma in Eco Management from the Cluj Technical University and the Minesotta Institute of Technology, as well as an Executive Master for Business Administration (MBA) from the Kennesaw State University Atlanta, USA, in collaboration with the Bucharest Business Administration Institute (IBAA).

Patrimony

Adrian Gligor, Vice-President Patrimony and Sustainable Development

Adrian Gligor has been working for the company since 2002 in the Patrimony department, which he has been running since 2005. He has also been in charge of the sustainability strategy since 2008. Adrian is responsible for identifying the best solutions for the preservation and valorisation of the cultural heritage from Roşia Montană, within the context of the mining project.

He is also looking for the best ways to transform heritage assets – buildings, museums, vestiges – into real future solutions for long-term community development through cultural tourism. As an archaeologist, Adrian sees the mining project as an opportunity that Romania cannot miss, considering that this investment is the only viable solution for rescuing and valorising the cultural heritage.

He graduated from “1 decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia, specialising in history-archaeology; he is now having his PhD within the same University. Adrian also graduated from the Executive MBA of the Kennesaw State University, Atlanta, USA. Prior to working for RMGC, Adrian Gligor was an archaeologist at the National Union Museum of Alba Iulia, Ministry of Culture and Religious Denominations, between 1997 and 2002.

Cecilia Szentesy, Technical Design Director

Cecilia Szentesy has been working for RMGC since 1997 when the company was first established, and is now Technical Design Director, being mainly responsible for coordinating the teams who draft and update the feasibility studies, the technical reports and the urbanism studies required to obtain the necessary permits and authorisations. Cecilia also makes sure that the commitments taken by the Company under the exploration/exploitation licenses are complied with.

Cecilia Szentesy has over 25 years of experience in geological explorations. She graduated from the “Geological and Geophysical Engineering” Faculty of the Babeş – Bolyai University in Cluj Napoca (1979 – 1984), and from an Executive Master for Business Administration - Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies & Kennesaw State University Atlanta, USA (2007-2009).

Community Relations

Elena Lorincz, Community Relations Director

Elena has been in this position since June 2009, after a sustained activity of dialogue and support within the local community from Rosia Montana. She has been working for RMGC since June 2002 as a construction engineer, then Coordinator of the Topographic Unit, thus participating in many public consultations. Before heading the Community Relations Department, she coordinated the resettlement procedures in 2008-2009. The main mission of the Community Relations Department is to acquire lands with a view to developing the mining project and mitigating the social impact of the relocation & resettlement process. The whole process complies with the Relocation and Resettlement Action Plan (RRAP), developed by RMGC with the assistance of international experts, in accordance with the World Bank’s standards on relocation and resettlement, as well as in compliance with the best international practices for such industrial projects.

Elena was born in Sebes, Alba County, and is a graduate of the Hydro-technical University of Timisoara, specialising in sanitary engineering and environmental protection. Her sociable and active character helps her a lot in her ongoing dialogue with the local community, to which she truly belongs.

Camelia Tudorancea, Legal Director

Camelia Tudorancea has 20 years of experience in legal consultancy, both for large multinational companies and major law firms. Her fields of expertise range from legal consultancy for mergers and acquisitions, to dispute settlement, arbitrage, negotiations or intellectual property matters. Camelia joined RMGC in August 2009, as Legal Director. Her department assesses risks, settles legal disputes and provides for a proper legal framework for the company’s business. Camelia graduated from the Law School of the Bucharest University in 1991, and is in the process of graduating from a Master in European legislation and European institutions. She participated in numerous seminars and training courses in Belgium, France, the Czech Republic and Austria.

Oana Grigoriu, Human Resources Director

Oana Grigoriu has been leading the RMGC’s HR Department since 2005, after holding the same positions within multinationals such as Lukoil Romania and KPMG Romania and Moldova. As an HR Director, Oana Grigoriu selects the most appropriate employees for RMGC, being also responsible for health and safety matters. Oana also coordinates the company’s social responsibility activity, for which local community support is crucial. Oana graduated from the Executive MBA Asebuss and describes herself as a highly energetic person.

Romulus Marian, Finance Director

Romulus Marian has been working for RMGC since May 2008 as the Finance Director, after holding a similar position within UPC Romania, a subsidiary of Liberty Global Inc. His main tasks within RMGC include supervising and coordinating financial reporting and planning activities, as well as ensuring a fair and transparent use of the company’s budget, by internal control and external audit measures. He is also involved in ensuring the financing for project development, making sure that RMGC complies with all the financial – accounting rules required for a publicly listed company like the majority shareholder, as well as with the Romanian account legislation. Romulus Marian graduated from the Faculty of Economic Sciences within the Babes-Bolyai University from Cluj, specialising in Finance – Banking. He is married and has two children.

Permitting Director

Bogdan Petrescu, Permitting Director

Bogdan Petrescu is responsible for coordinating the actions aimed at obtaining all permits and authorisations required for the development and exploitation of the mining project. Bogdan joined RMGC in September 2009, and was previously Project Director of GSE Group for Romania. Having over 15 years of experience in project and programme development management within multinational organisations, Bogdan Petrescu ensures the good collaboration and communication between all authorities, technical and research bodies from Romania and abroad involved in the project, on the one hand, and RMGC’s internal resources, on the other hand, with a view to an effective start of the mining investment. Bogdan graduated from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, as well as from an Executive Master for Business Administration, Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies & CNAM Paris. He is married and has two children.

Roşia Montană Project is a direct investment in the Romanian economy, worth over US$2 billion. In the community where it is to be implemented, the project will have a significant economic impact, as it will create direct and indirect jobs, will open up new business opportunities and generate major contributions to the local and state budgets.

Exploration Director

Adrian Minuţ, Exploration Director

Adrian Minuţ has been working with RMGC since 1997, as one of company’s first employees. As Exploration Director, his main responsibility is to overview and coordinate the research-exploration and geological works, in order to assess as acurately as possible the geological deposits, while securing that worldwide state-of-the-art working methods and technologies are being employed. At the same time, Adrian Minut coordinates the identification of new potentially viable mining perimeters. He graduated the Faculty of Biology, Geography and Geology, having majored in Geological Engineering and Geophysics, at the University Al. I. Cuza in Iasi in 1986. He has a significant experience in exploration and assessment of mineral deposits.
