21 July 2010: The communities from Rosia Montana and Alba County strongly reject the initiative of placing Rosia Montana on the UNESCO list, in the detriment of the economic development of an area facing major social problems.
18 January 2010: The local community welcomes the Government’s undertaking to start the Roşia Montană Project and rejects the illegitimate protests of the organisations and persons who do not live in the area and do not represent the community.
21 April 2009: The non-governmental organisation Pro Dreptatea draws the authorities’ attention that Roşia Montană has been and will be a mining area. Roşia Montană has developed as a result of mining and any attempt to hinder the socio-economic development of this locality would be a great injustice done to the area’s inhabitants.
14 April 2009: The Roma community from Roşia Montană, consisting of about 600 persons, is launching an appeal to the Ministry of Environment to start the mining project, because the young people from the community need jobs.

9 April 2009: The non-governmental organisation Pro Roşia Montană, representing the interests of over 80% of the Roşia Montană community, requests that the Technical Review Committee resumes its activities, in order to continue the environmental impact assessment of the Roşia Montană mining project.
2 April 2009: „Viitorul Mineritului” Union (Mining Future), based in Roşia Montană, requests the urgent convocation of the Technical Review Committee in order to resume the environmental impact assessment of the Roşia Montană mining project.
